How often should you move up your extensions?

Every method has a different rhythm. Here's exactly when to schedule your next appointment so your install stays comfortable and undetectable.

Your natural hair grows about half an inch per month — which means every extension method needs periodic maintenance to stay tucked against the scalp.

K-Tip: every 8–10 weeks

The bonds slowly grow out with your natural hair. Around 8–10 weeks they need to be removed, your hair cleansed, and new bonds placed.

Wefts: every 6–8 weeks

Hand-tied and machine wefts need tightening as the beads grow out. Same weft can be reused for 2–3 moveups depending on condition.

Tape-In: every 6–8 weeks

Tapes need to be removed, hair cleansed at the bond line, and re-taped with fresh adhesive strips.

I-Tip: every 8–10 weeks

The bead grip loosens as new growth comes in. Beads are opened, tips repositioned, and beads reclosed.
