How to Fix Common Color Mistakes With Color Correction
Brassy blonde, banded highlights, muddy brown, uneven grey coverage. Here's how our correction team fixes each one.
Every color correction is different, but the mistakes we fix most often fall into four categories. Here's how each one is corrected.
Brassy or yellow blonde
A toning gloss with violet base pigment. One session, 45–60 minutes.
Banded highlights
The tell-tale stripes that come from repeated highlights on the same weave. Corrected with a strategic lowlight-and-highlight session to break the bands.
Muddy brown
Usually caused by dark box dye or over-toned brunette. Corrected with a filler-and-refresh technique across 1–2 sessions.
Uneven grey coverage
Corrected with a permanent base color plus a demi-permanent gloss overlay.
